Huma is a Registered Social Worker who specializes providing mental health and addictions counselling for adults. She has experience in wide variety of settings, including community services, hospitals, private practice, and employee assistance programs.
Huma also practices as a Social Worker at the Nicotine Dependence Clinic at CAMH. She uses an integrative approach when working with clients, with aspects of Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Huma focuses on evidence based and client centered care, with a belief that effective treatment is dependent on a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist.
She strives to highlight her clients’ unique strengths and support them in utilizing these strengths to work towards the changes they want to see in their lives.
