Ruxandra is a doctoral student clinician who is completing her PhD in School and Clinical Child Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. She has a Master of Arts in School and Clinical Psychology and has experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and therapy with children and adolescents. Previously, Ruxandra was a classroom teacher at the International School of Brussels, where she primarily taught first grade. Over the past ten years Ruxandra has been working as an educator and clinician-in-training in various school and therapeutic settings.
Ruxandra provides comprehensive psychoeducational assessments under the supervision of Aisha Yorke, registered School Psychologist. She takes a strengths-based approach to assessment in order to better understand students’ learning profiles and make recommendations for continued growth. Ruxandra has experience conducting psychoeducational assessments in multiple school boards as well as private practice settings.
Ruxandra’s research interests include play-based learning, early reading, and teacher perspectives. Her dissertation research explores kindergarten teachers’ perspectives and practice of teaching early reading skills through play.
