Huma Saeedi is a registered psychotherapist and has been in the field for over 18 years and has worked with diverse clientele. Huma has provided both individual and group therapy to people with primarily PTSD, along with other related mood and anxiety disorders.
Huma has worked as a therapist at CAMH for over 17 years, with the last 12 years working in the Psychological Trauma Program. In this program, Huma has worked with countless individuals across Ontario, with particular expertise with police officers, paramedics, firefighters, and nurses. Huma has also provided support and expertise in helping individuals return to work after traumatic experiences. She was recently awarded the 2019 CAMH Clinical Practice Excellence Award for the Psychotherapy Discipline. Huma is also on the Board of Directors for Lighthouse, an organization focused on supporting grieving children and their families, as well as the Board of Directors for Sakeenah Homes, an organization that advocates and provides services for marginalized women and children.
Huma has received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
