We’re excited to deliver our very first men’s group counselling service!

Figuring Out Fatherhood is aimed at dads with young children. Over the span of 5 sessions, our Group Counsellors – Abdul Wasey and Adam – will lead the discussions ranging from diverse topics like finding purpose in fatherhood, role models, meaningful relationships as men, loneliness, expectations, responsibilities, parenting, and more.

How much will this cost?

The fee for 5 sessions is $499. The series will be billed as a flat-fee service, meaning you will be billed for the entire amount. While we do not offer any discounts, we will be happy to offer a payment plan for anyone in need.

If you have coverage through extended health insurance plans or spending accounts for psychological or psychotherapy services, then you may be eligible to get the cost reimbursed by your insurer. Check with your insurer.

Ahh...a bunch of dudes talking about feelings, isn't this going to be awkward?

Attendees can share as much or as little about their personal experiences as they wish, without any coercion. We know as men it is sometimes difficult to speak about our challenges, especially familial. We also know that in order for men to grow, transform, and become the best versions of themselves, it takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to open up. We are here to support you and walk alongside you on your journey to figuring out fatherhood.

Are these sessions confidential?

Generally, the information that a client shares with their therapist remains confidential. This means that a therapist has a legal duty to ensure the information is kept private. There are some limits to confidentiality which will be discussed during the informed consent process.

While therapists are bound by certain confidentiality rules, we can't guarantee that other attendees will follow these rules, but this will also be discussed in the our first session.

What will we gain from attending these sessions?

We have designed this series with three objectives in mind:

  1. Connecting dads to others like them
  2. Teaching skills that a dad of a young child might find helpful
  3. Setting goals for personal growth

We plan on achieving these goals by using a combination of different approaches, including skills-based therapeutic skills, play-based interactions, and progress monitoring.

Do I need to attend all 5 sessions?

We created this series with the plan that each session will build upon the previous one in sequential manner. While it is expected and ideal that you attend all 5 sessions, we understand life happens.
