Rafiya Asad is a registered Social Worker offering psychotherapy services, who works with children, teens, adults, and families. She completed her Masters of Social Work degree at University of Toronto, specializing in working with children and families).
Rafiya currently works for one of Ontario’s Community Health Centres, for which she provides mental health support to racialized/marginalized children, adolescents, and their families. She works from a client-centred, trauma-informed, social justice based approach; and has assisted individuals in working through issues involving anxiety, depression, past trauma, suicidal ideation, self-harm, family violence, life transitions, academic stress, poverty, post-migratory stress, and community-based violence.
Rafiya incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Attachment-Focused Family Therapy in her work with her clients.
Rafiya is able to facilitate sessions in both English and Urdu. She welcomes interested clients of all faiths, genders, and identity backgrounds.
