Michèle Cheng, M.A. is a doctoral candidate at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in the
School and Applied Child Psychology program. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of
children, adolescents and adults.
She has a strong foundation in bilingual (French/English) psychological and neuropsychological
assessment, mental health and academic intervention, as well as individual and system-wide
consultation. Specifically, she has expertise in working with children and youth with a variety of
mental health difficulties, including anxiety, mood disorders, emotion and behaviour regulation,
learning and attention difficulties, trauma, and traumatic brain injuries.
Michèle draws from various therapeutic orientations, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT),
mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to create treatment plans that empower clients to
become the heroes they all have the potential to be. To accomplish this goal, she strives to offer
reflective, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
